1 x SE428RP. This is a very clever and neat solution for a  XK140 & XK150 Power Assisted Steering Column Kit for Right Hand Drive Vehicles with standard, factory Positive Earth polarity.

This unit uses a modern EPS (Electric Power Steering) motor that is spliced into the upper steering column itself (shown fitted in photo) and so is hidden under the dashboard leaving your engine bay untouched, so there is no need for extra pullies, belts, pumps, odd looking power racks or additional engine ancillaries. The weight-saving benefits of this system are obvious as the motor weighs little more than a traditional engine bay hydraulic pump, then you would add in the heavy hydraulic system to the rack itself. This modern, compact, direct drive design confines the old complex power rack system to the bin. Imagine, no more leaking high pressure seals and routing of metres of expensive hoses to split and leak all over your engine bay!

These units are cleverly electronically managed by an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) to maximise assistance at low speed, then decrease assistance as the vehicle speed increases, giving good, proportional feedback. This kit is developed from the new generation of Koyo / NSK power assisted steering units, so you can rest assured it is safety orientated, reliable and natural feeling when in use. You are fitting this as an additional assistance  unit, so in the unlikely event of failure, the vehicle will revert back to normal XK direct steering and so your vehicle will still be controllable. We recommend the tunable version which comes with the potentiometer unit that hides under the dash, so you may adjust to your preference, or maybe adjust it for a second driver etc.

IMPORTANT NOTE : This is in effect a customisable, additional aftermarket kit and we do strongly recommend that it is fitted and tested by a qualified proffessional workshop to ensure the quality of fit matches the high quality of the kit itself.
